What makes paper "fountain pen friendly"?
Fountain pen friendly paper (such as Rhodia, Leuchtturm1917, or Hobonichi Tomoe River) is milled to prevent "feathering" (ink spreading along fibers) and "bleed-through" (ink soaking through to the other side). It typically features a smooth sizing/coating that allows inks to sit on top of the sheet, showcasing the ink's unique shading and sheen properties.
Why is my gel pen skipping or scratchy?
Gel pens like the Pilot G2 may skip if they have been stored tip-up, allowing air bubbles into the cartridge, or if hand oils have coated the paper surface. We recommend storing gel pens horizontally and keeping a clean sheet under your hand while writing.
Do you offer custom leather embossing or engraving?
Yes, we offer premium hot-foil monogramming in Gold, Silver, and Blind Debossing for most of our leather journals and desk folios. Please select the "Embossing" option on the product detail page before adding to your cart.
